Japan blog!

So I decided make my AFS Japan blog a separate one:

My place is quite rural so I won't be particularly shocked if I can't have frequent access to the internet. While I do hope I get to use it at least an hour or two in the weekends to update laili-injapan, if I can't do it at home I'll do it at school then. If all fails, then... well heck. *flips table

I can't really think of anything much I've done these past few days.

After coming back, I went off and (finally) got a camera for my trip.
After months of researching, I decided that the Panasonic Lumix TZ25 was the best choice.

All the reviews I read of it were 4 and above and it has manual mode *___* plus 16x zoom, baby! I bought it for RM900 (about USD300). I haven't played with it much (since I wanna spend as much time as I can with the Alpha :>) but here are some pictures.

Ira and I went to Sunway Pyramid mall to ice skate after walking around in Damansara.

For the love of my life I cannot remember what shop this was. But it was some good, brain-freeze inducing icecream.

Only caught a glimpse of this performance since we were rushing for the bus u__u too bad.

WHY AM I NEVER OUT WHEN THE LANTERNS ARE ON *bawl*

I went back to my mum's hometown to say my goodbyes to my grandparents. This isn't a picture of our kampung tho lol

So yeah, I'm not 100% used to seeing these pictures which aren't as sharp as the Alpha's but I think it's pretty good :B don't regret buying it for sure. It's a bit bulky tho x_x

That's all I have I guess. My siblings have been sick nowadays with my brother down with a really bad fever. He's a bit better now but I really hope I didn't catch it when I took care of him. But my throat pain already. Damn it.

Photo dump; it's the end of January?!

49 days to go. Unbelievable. Since I haven't been around since forever, have a photo dump because I'm starting to wonder why I even take pictures in the first place. (Seriously, do people upload everything they take? Or do I take too many pictures of junk?)

So the last time I went out with Ira, this Parkamaya at Farenheit88 was still in progress. When I passed by Farenheit88 again turns out it was ready so I decided to go check it out.

The place is SO pretty! Simple yet well decorated. But. The items are quite pricey. A dress I thought was about ~RM70 was RM300 ._." I didn't get to go around much though and I'd like to go there again (just to enjoy the prettiness of the place. Prettiness is a word?)

Went off to Times Square.

The takoyaki at TamaYaki was quite good. It's different from Tako Tao's. TamaYaki's was "crunchier" as opposed to Tako Tao's that crumbles easily. TY's has more condiments which is good at first but after a while it's a bit too much, I ate my four takoyakis + two of my friend's and had to force three of them down *_*;; I would go again though, plus it has a TON of fillings to choose from. #takoyakiexpert

Chinese New Year is coming~~ I'm SUPER sad I won't be around for CNY :( but yeah the flight's booked and all. Really can't do much. Hopefully there'll still be some activities when I come back on the 15th.
Still not satisfied with my photography abilities :S

It's AAAALLWAYS been my dream to take a picture of this arc. This was the arc I saw when my siblings took me out for a night drive around KL right before my Arts exam. I swore that I'd take a picture of it, but... blergh. It's so lacking when it's in daylight. Hopefully I'll get to go out at night to snap some photos because the view of KL at night is GORGEOUS.

Went to school for the 2nd time after graduating.

Next to the Art room, this is where I spent most of my time rather than being in class. When I think back on my final year, it was really a clusterstorm. I got to the first class as I wanted but couldn't really fit in because these people had been together for all these years. I was barely in class as we had five visits from Japanese high schools, and I had my Arts assignment plus the Editorial Board tasks. Once, the day after a visit, meaning I was back in class, I found out that I had no place to sit. It was normal for us to change seats as we liked but that was when I realised I really had no place in the class.

Depressing story aside, what's up with my camera lens? As clearly seen in the Legacy photo, it's always warped near the edges. I've read a few reviews saying NEX7's kit lens are memang like this one, ohgosh why am I being Malay now

some random pictures around town. I love cafes like this!

The moon was sooo shiny the other day! *_*

I went to school again to help with the visit from Japanese high schools and met my adorableee juniors ♥

BABY DUCKS :B

yes I am aware they are called ducklings.

This was a drafted post that I forgot to post so now there's 31 days to go!

leonely★in★gorgeous : more Japanese food, Bukit Bintang, DORAEMON. + vlog.

It's Sunday! I made it! (笑)

Monday . 10th December

Wake up → walk around → sleep → wake up → walk around → sleep → wake up → chat with friends on Facebook orz

Tuesday . 11th December

Ira and I went out to town to take pictures around as preparations for our trip. Since it was raining, we decided to go eat at Sushi King first.

My brunch; Tori Karaage Don and Ira's, Mixed Bento.

This was posted on the wall. The old couple so cute and presh ;_;

As we were done with our brunch the rain had stopped too. So picture time! :) Here's an obligatory JUMPSHOT!

Bonus: Everyone who's ಠ_ಠ'ing at her is wearing the same shoes.

Bukit Bintang : KLCC → Pavillion → Farenheit88.
LOOK WHO I FOUND

Apparently, they had a 100-year Doreamon special in Farenheit88 and there were tons and tons of Doraemon merchandise ;_; (and yes, that is a rabbit head.)

Some of the many, many Doraemon there.

After a tiring 6 hours walking around Bukit Bintang, we went to Ampang Point (by public transport!) and got a seat at a cosy corner in Starbucks.

My derp is contagious you see.

So Ira told me about her plans on making a vlog for our year in Japan. So far we've planned on the pre-exchange vlogs, about our orientation camp and our preparations for the programme. I'm not very clear as to what I would be talking about when we're there, (and if I will in the first place?) but I'm sure I'll think of some things up along the way. Also at the bottom of this gif ↑ is my new handy dandy organiser :3 makes me happy that the pages are filling up nicely.
We also shot some practice videos but it ended up that I saved them all in the wrong file type OTL

Thursday . 13th December

I spent two days at her house playing Persona 4, Metal Slug and Raidou Kuzunoha 2 and also generally messing up her room:

love-love umbrellas for both of us
And here is her stripping, ready to throw herself on her yakuza boyfriend
Sunday . 16th December

ALAMANDA DOES NOT APPROVE OF CROCS.

I'll be out to eat steamboat with the family tonight, so さらば!

Purikura + Port Dickson + Big Bad Wolf

Wow it's been some time since I last posted (isn't it always?). Well anyways, say it with me guys:

DONE WITH SPM!

That's right, I'm officially, truly a high school graduate now. Know what else is official? My high school exchange to Japan! Yes, I'm accepted for AFS Japan!

I've actually been planning for this time, writing all sorts of things I want to do when I'm free. Plus since I'm going to Japan, I kinda have a 'time limit'. With 100 days to go, I'm pretty determined to fill up my time with as much fun times as possible.

30th November
Went out with my friends to Mid Valley. Although we went out to look for clothes for the Hi-Tea, instead we went to do this:

プリクラ!Man purikuras (print club, photobooth stickers) are so much fun. I did one when I was in Japan but I only remember going ???? while the rest did their magic. Gonna do this with all my friends before I go! IT BRINGS OUT THE GIRL IN ME OKAY.

We also went to watch Rise of the Guardians. I like it *o* but one thing was that it was kind of cluttered. It felt like they were trying to put all the characters' backstories plus fighting Pitch into one movie. Not to mention Jack and Tooth? Some scenes, the hugging especially, made me think the creators wanted something between them but... it never happened? Nevertheless, I'd be back if there was a sequel.

3rd 4th 5th December
Trip to Port Dickson!
...unfortunately, it was raining and gloomy most of the time so we just stayed inside the hotel orz

We went to eat at Pak Hailam Kopitiam at PD Waterfront, a fairly new place apparently. The food was reasonably priced with generous servings! Look at the waiter's name hahah.

The morning on the second day was the only time it was sunny enough. Look at the sun rays! *_*

LOOK IT'S MCDONALDS BY THE BEACH ARE YOU FOR REAL

My breakfast at Matsu Restaurant, teriyaki don! ♥♥

Ah and I also went to Big Bad Wolf Booksale on Saturday but forgot to take any pictures blergh

So that's basically been my week since the end of high school. I think I'll keep updating weekly every Sunday.

See you next week! ☆ (or whenever I feel like posting)
